Welcome to DS Shrewsbury.
Arrival
Your group will be registered by our staff in the main office. Here, we will ask your students to:
- Hand in their passport for safe keeping.
- Hand in any money/ credit cards for safe keeping.
- Hand in any other important documents.
- Receive a lanyard that they must wear all the time while on the course.
- Receive information regarding their room. NB. for fire reasons, students are not issued with a room key.
- Check the information we have on our system including health, contact info, special requests and emergency contact info.
- Have their photo taken for safety reasons
- Receive access to the wifi and student information site.
We will also issue YOU with:
- A lanyard
- A room & key
- A welcome pack
- Wifi info
- Details of our first meeting.
You and your group will then be taken to your houses where our team will take care of you.
First day
After breakfast and a welcome meeting for all students, you will meet with the Course Director who will explain the programme and the role of Group Leaders at DS Shrewsbury. This will include:
- A group Leader Induction
- Issuing of any sim cards and necessary info
- Chance for you to ask any questions you may have.
- Details of daily meetings with the Course Director and a typical agenda.
Daily Meetings
Daily meetings with the Course Director are the perfect opportunity to support your children. We will look at health, diet, laundry, academic, social and any other challenges your children may be facing. We will also provide full support for you and your needs, including welcoming any feedback you may offer. These meetings are also a chance for you to learn more about the excursions and the days programmes and any special requests your group may have.
Encouraging Student Integration
To help your students to integrate well with the others, we recommend that you sit apart from your group during meals, and when possible, you talk to your group in English.

As a group leader, you will be going on the excursions.

Departures
We provide full support when it comes to arranging your pick up and departure from Shrewsbury. Working with our Head Office, we will provide you with full guidance to help make this a smooth procedure. Information will be given through our daily meetings.
